Cooler Weather May Bring Big Crowds to Festival of the Little Hills

Warm, but not hot weather, is expected for the 41st Festival of the Little Hills in St. Charles, scheduled for Aug. 17-19.

Temperatures are expected to top out at 81°F on Friday, 79°F on Saturday and 83°F on Sunday.

St. Charles Issues Voluntary Water Conservation Order

St. Charles officials are asking residents to limit their outdoor water use after prolonged abnormal dry conditions, mixed with a high volume of water usage furing the Fourth of Juily holiday forced the city to issue a voluntary water conservation order.

The order is in effect until further notice. Residents are encouraged to limit lawn sprinkling, car washing and other non-essential water use.

Couple's Colorful Rose Garden Captivates Visitors

Marion and Richard Burkholder’s passion for roses dates back as far as they can remember.

Their fathers’ both tended to rose gardens. During the first year of their marriage, Marion’s dad stopped by with a gift—a World’s Fair rose with beautiful blooms. Since then, they have tended to over several hundred plants at homes in Missouri and Kentucky.

Boschert Greenway Trail To Formally Open June 15

The newest section of the Boschert Greenway trail connecting New Town to the Katy Trail will be dedicated June 15

The trail was a joint project between Great Rivers Greenway and the city of St. Charles, with GRG paying for 90 percent of the project and the city paying the rest.
