St Charles, MO (KTVI) -Two St. Charles County men have been charged with stealing a Freightliner truck Wednesday morning at a motel on Zumbehl. Police say 30-year-old Dustin Mass and 23-year-old Matthew Haney smashed the window of the truck and started driving toward I-70. The driver of the semi-truck had left it running because it was carrying 2000 medical mice. The mice were valued at $10,000.
Police say employees at the hotel alerted the driver to the theft.
The transport company used GPS to track the stolen truck to Bridgeton. The suspects were taken into custody less than an hour later. The mice were recovered unharmed.
