Heat And Fire Make Firefighting Difficult In St. Charles County | News

ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO. (KTVI) – If you want a sense for how the heat is already being felt take a look at firefighters in St. Charles County.  When Central County Fire and Rescue firefighters responded to a deck fire at a condo in St. Peters Wednesday, a second alarm was immediately called not because it was a particularly difficult or widespread fire but because of the heat.

Cottleville firefighters also responded as a backup in case the heat became too much for anyone.  Paramedics were on hand to check the blood pressure of firefighters and there was plenty of water and ice available.

But it’s not just firefighters; the city of St. Louis wants everyone to be aware this week’s heat can be deadly.
