DWI Enforcement Planned This Weekend Statewide July 1-4

Fourteen Missouri law enforcement agencies provided additional enforcement on Interstate 70 from 6 a.m. on Friday, June 24 to 6 a.m. on Saturday, June 25.

As a result, 1,650 traffic stops were made resulting in the following violations:

  • DWI --17
  • Speed -- 593
  • Seat Belt -- 125
  • Drug Arrests -- 10
  • Fugitives Apprehended -- 13
  • Suspended/Revoked License -- 36
  • Uninsured Motorists -- 89
  • Total Violations -- 1,023
  • Total Warnings -- 251

Participating agencies included: Missouri State Highway Patrol, St. Louis Metro Police Department, St. Louis County Police Department, St. Ann Police Department, Berkeley Police Department, St. Peters Police Department, Wentzville Police Department, Foristell Police Department, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office, Boone County Sheriff’s Office, Columbia Police Department, Cooper County Sheriff’s Office, Independence Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

The special Interstate 70 enforcement was part of the three-month “HEAT Is On” campaign from June 22-September 21. Additional increased enforcement is planned throughout the summer. Over the 4th of July weekend, Missouri law enforcement statewide will step up DWI enforcement (July 1-4).

Law enforcement will be on the lookout for speeders, drivers who aren't wearing seat belts, and those who are impaired.  For more information about the “HEAT Is On” campaign, visit www.saveMOlives.com.
