MoDOT Asks Motorists To “Rate Our Work Zones”

MoDOT Asks Motorists To “Rate Our Work Zones”

As the road construction and maintenance season begins, motorists are seeing highway work zones popping up across the state. MoDOT’s job is to make the work zones clear to understand and navigate, and above all, safe.

Part of the ongoing process to continually improve work zones is to solicit feedback from those traveling the roadways. This year, new signs will ask drivers to “Rate Our Work Zones.”

“We are placing these signs near the beginning of work zones as a way to encourage motorists to tell us what they think,” said Julie Stotlemeyer, traffic liaison engineer. “Once motorists safely reach their destinations, we want their feedback on what it was like to travel through the work zone.”

MoDOT is looking for the public’s opinion on a variety of work zone details – including clear and understandable signing, channelizers and barrels providing proper guidance, and whether or not the work zone caused motorists any delays.

Klondike Park Boat Ramp Closed For Construction

Klondike Park Boat Ramp Closed For Construction

The St. Charles County Parks Department has temporarily closed the public boat ramp at Klondike Park, 4600 Highway 94 South in Augusta, for maintenance repairs. The maintenance to the new ramp will allow public access year-round.

The ramp should reopen in a couple of months, in time for boating season. Completion of the project is contingent upon low Missouri River levels and adequate weather conditions.

St. Charles County has another free public boat ramp which accesses the Mississippi River at Hideaway Harbor Park in Portage des Sioux.

Park visitors are always encouraged to call the St. Charles County Parks Closure/Cancellation Hotline at 636-949-7475 for updates on the status of this facility.
