Gutermuth Road To Be Closed For 3 Months In St. Charles County

(KTVI) - Residents in St. Charles County should take note of the following road closure.  The Missouri Deportment of Transportation will be closing Gutermuth road on or about May 29th to start construction of the new Gutermurth road bridge that will go over the third phase of Route 364 Page Road construction.

Traffic will be diverted to Old Gutermuth Road during the contsruction.  

It’s hoped that construction will be completed by Friday, August 30th, Labor Day weekend.

The phase 3 $118 million Page Extension project is scheduled for completion by November 2014.  Phase 3 will allow traffic to flow from I-270 to I-64 and Route N interchange.

MoDOT Approves Funding Partnership For Highway 61 Improvements

St. Charles County, Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) and the city of Wentzville have received approval for a $14 million funding partnership to improve the safety of U.S. Highway 61.

 In January, St. Charles County submitted an application to MoDOT for the funding partnership in response to recent severe accidents on the highway. It was determined that the safety of the corridor could be improved with the construction of a grade-separated interchange at Missouri Route P and Peine Road, as well as the construction of improvements at several other intersections along the corridor.

 The partnership includes $8,000,000 in funding from MoDOT, $3,500,000 from St. Charles County, and $2,500,000 from the city of Wentzville.

MoDOT To Close Lanes On Westbound Interstate 70

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close several lanes of westbound Interstate 70 in St. Charles County October 22-23, 2012, weather permitting.


·        Monday, October 22- two right lanes westbound closed from Route 79 to Route K from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. The exit ramp to T.R. Hughes will remain open.
·        Tuesday, October 23- Up to two left lanes westbound closed from Route 79 to Route K from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
             

Crews will stripe a fourth westbound I-70 lane between T.R. Hughes Boulevard and Route K.

MoDOT to close railroad crossings at Route 94 and Route H for repairs

ST. CHARLES COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will close the railroad crossings at Route 94 and Route H starting Wednesday weather permitting.

The closures are scheduled for crossing repairs by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad:
·        October 17-18: Route 94 railroad crossing closed.
·        October 23-24: Route H railroad crossing closed.

Motorists can use Route H for the detour for the Route 94 closure and during the Route H closure, motorists can use Route 94.

New Signs Will Direct Traffic to St. Charles During Bridge Closure

Motorists hoping to find downtown St. Charles from Route 370 or Highway 364 after the closure of the westbound span of the Blanchette Bridge will have some help.

The city plans to spend $31,579 on big blue and white wayfinding signs which will be placed at strategic locations.

St. Charles Police Switch from Crown Vic to Chevy Tahoe for Patrol Cars

Several St. Charles police officers will soon be riding around in Chevy Tahoes rather than the traditional Crown Victoria, favored by police departments for ages.

The last Crown Victoria was manufactured in Sept. 2011, which has forced area law enforcement agencies to consider a replacement.
